What To Do When You Are Exhausted – The List

You Need To Do Two Things When You’re Very Tired!

When you are tired, you only need to do two things.

  1. Go take a nap.
  2. Stay asleep until you feel rested.

That’s it…and this is the shortest article on my whole site. Β I pray you got something useful out of this.

Interesting question Christi how often do we listen to our body when we feel tired?
It has happened to me to be exhausted and still work or do things that need to be done.
Is this real productivity when we are not in balance?
    Now I know the answer;)
    Thanks for sharing!

This was super easy to write…and you’re welcome! Glad you got a kick out of it. LOL!!

For me it’s important to find the balance between working and relaxing. I think you can only use your full potential when you are in harmony with yourself and therefore you have to find a way to be in balance.

    • C. Johnson

Balance is what we often lack as entrepreneurs. Forcing myself to go to sleep when I am sleepy is one of the hardest things I’ve had to learn. I’d glad you liked my brevity! πŸ™‚

Amen Christi! Life really IS simple, isn’t it! Reading your extremely long post definitely wore me out, so I think I’ll go take a nap now. <<>>

    • C. Johnson

You are so crazy, Steve! I went to bed after writing it too! lol!!

  • Jon Barry

    It sounds so simple……

And it is – is all of this “I must get x done” stuff really Must Get Done stuff at all?

    Most isn’t at all…..

    Jon Barry

    • C. Johnson

Jon…I find that most of the time, it’s stuff I don’t need to get done at all….either that, or I can actually do it later. I am learning this lesson daily. πŸ™‚

Phew Christi! I got tired reading that…I don’t know where you find the time to write such long posts! lol!

I’ve had to learn my lessons many times because I’m one of those people that work all night long, BUT sometimes, your body just says “Nope! I don’t know about you, but I’m gettin’ my rest”.

I now write my list of this to do the night before, and try not to make it too overwhelming. So, at the end of the day, I’ve achieved what I set out to do πŸ˜€

    • C. Johnson

Anne…this has been the longest three years of my life…and I REFUSE to work all day and all night anymore. I mean…I know there will be times when I just have to do so, but it’s going to be the exception now and not the rule. I’m glad this article helped you! Love you, girl!!

    Hi Christi

Lol, love your article. These days many people live very demanding life’s and if you run your own business getting enough sleep daily could be challenging. Sleeping more would certainly make even the most demanding schedule bearable.

    • C. Johnson

I actually didn’t think anyone would comment on this article. It’s turning into one of the more popular ones. LOLOL!!! Too funny. Thanks for your comment, Riann!! πŸ™‚

    Hi Christi

Short and to the point we all need to learn to stop when we are tired. Sometimes we push ourselves when taking a rest would be more beneficial and we would be more productive.

    • C. Johnson

Yep…and I stopped doing that. When I am sleepy, I now go to sleep. πŸ˜‰

    Great advice! πŸ™‚

Something that I have been learning to do over the last number of years is to schedule life around my breaks instead of scheduling breaks around my life.

      Thanks so much, Kevin! πŸ™‚

Hi Christi that was brief so it def was what you said your Blog would be. It is so important to have naps and be refreshed. I believe in Power Naps and try and listen to my body and they can make me more productive.

Sometimes however I know that I am doing it to escape from something else so it is realising why.

    • C. Johnson

I agree, Angus. I used to go to sleep to avoid stuff, but that was a long time ago. Now, I have to work hard to just go to sleep because I am always thinking about writing on the blog. I pray you get the rest you need. Our brains do a lot more for us when well-rested. πŸ™‚

Thanks for sharing the TWO things we need to do when we are tired. BUT do we? Sometimes we are tired especially as women and force ourselves to keep going on. The best thing to do is to switch off and have a rest. Those chores etc, can wait.

    • C. Johnson

I totally agree…and it’s so hard to just make myself go to sleep…like right now. lol Thanks for the comment, lady! πŸ™‚

Yes!! Simplify your life is key. When you are rested you are much more productive too! When you go on and on and on the bill will be presented to you. When I am inspired I just do not want to stop! LOL!

    • C. Johnson

I KNOW!! I am still up writing right now, and I really need to go to bed. Thanks for the comment! ((hugs))
