Days 1-3 On My Journey To Becoming A Software Developer…

I’m Happy To Share My First Three Days Towards Software Development As A Career…

I left home on Friday evening and am now settled into where I will be for the next 9-12 weeks.  Instead of trying to come up with an article every day, I decided to create videos as I was going along so that people coming through cohorts after me will have an idea, from start to finish, what it’s like to do this.

It’s incredibly clear to me, now, that this is an exciting time in education.  The country needs developers, and there are businesses willing to train people like me who want and need a career change.

Please take a look at the video and pictures below if you’d like to get a clear idea of how things are going from day to day.

Video And Image-Based Content Will Save Me Some Time…I Hope

Tomorrow is my first day in class, but it will be day FOUR of this journey.  Please feel free to leave comments here on this blog if you have any questions or thoughts you’d like to share.  Thanks for reading, looking at my pics – and watching the video at the end!  🙂

The drive started out well, but I left home pretty late in the day. I had SO much to do the last two days, prior to getting on the road.

This was my view Friday evening in South Carolina…

I stopped for the night around 1:30am and got a hotel room.  When I awakened in the morning, I found this sweet text from my mother on my phone.

What a blessing to have a mom who loves me…

If you are curious as to what Isaiah 58:11 says, here you are:  “And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

That was so precious to me, and it was a perfect way to start the next day.

I drove 9.5 hours and had to stop again.  Driving to Houston, TX from Fayetteville, NC is no joke of a trip…SO exhausting!!  I probably could have done it by Saturday if I’d have been able to get further the first day.  Oh well…

This is the picture I sent to my daughter before going to sleep…

Even my hair was tired.  LOL!!

When I awakened the next morning, it was my daughter’s turn to send me a text that warmed my heart.  I wasn’t sure what we would do about church during the time I was gone, and I did not want to put any undue burdens on my mom and stepfather.

Imagine my joy when I saw this text from my teenager…

I’m so much of a softie for my daughter.  I just stopped and praised God for a moment.  Every step of the way, He is providing for this season in our lives.  I am so grateful!

That’s it for pictures.  After eating, showering, and washing/twisting my hair, I am now about to go to sleep, but before I end this article, I’ll share the video.  I pray you enjoy and are encouraged if you are considering learning how to code!
